Anger Management actress and mom-to-be Noureen DeWulf wants to keep the puck sliding from daddy to baby.

"It is a boy and I think he will play hockey," DeWulf told PEOPLE at the ASPCA Compassion Awards honoring Nikki Reed and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting. "That's what he's telling me from in my belly."

Like any expectant mom, DeWulf, 30 — who is five months along with her first child — could not be more excited to meet her bundle of joy.

"It's so special … when you are in love with somebody and you want to procreate with them," DeWulf says of her hockey player husband, Olympian Ryan Miller, 34. "I want to see what my baby looks like."

The expectant star has had a "beautiful" pregnancy so far, despite her insatiable craving for vegetable juice.

"It used to be a lot of French fries. Now, it's tomato juice," she shares. "I literally drank an entire gallon of Whole Foods tomato juice in a glass bottle. I also drank a whole gallon of V-8 on set. They keep restocking it for me."

The actress isn't letting her cravings slow her down: She's still working out, but switching up her routines to accommodate her growing belly.

"I do spinning, I do weight training, I work out with a trainer, I work out just by myself, I do the elliptical," she explains. "I'm still trying to do stuff like that while I'm pregnant, but it's hard."

Steven Van Zandt moderated a panel with Mike Myers and talent manager Shep Gordon at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, but the "Austin Powers" star couldn't help but take over.

Our spy says Myers "made like Phil Donahue and started running into the crowd with his microphone so guests could ask questions."

The chat was for Myers' documentary on Gordon, the legendary music manager who repped Alice Cooper and Teddy Pendergrass before guiding the careers of chefs like Emeril Lagasse.

Director Myers revealed that he wanted to be the "Canadian [John] Cassavetes" before discovering improv and joining "SNL."

Among those in the crowd of the Oscar-buzzed film was Bennett Miller.

{allcanada} Tiger-Cats find multiple ways to score in win over Redblacks

Garance Doré for Rifle Paper Co. at ShopManhattanite.com! Free Shipping on Any U.S. Order, Use Code: FREESHIPUS. Shop Now!

1989 - Taylor Swift / Sons of Anarchy / How I Met Your Mother

OTTAWA - It wasn't the way the Ottawa Redblacks wanted their final home game of their inaugural season to play out, but it ended in very similar fashion to most other games at TD Place this season.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats had a special team's touchdown and two defensive touchdowns Friday night in a 34-25 win over the Redblacks, who finish the year with two wins in nine home games.

"This is the way it's been all season and you don't want to get complacent or be happy about losing. They all sting," defensive lineman Keith Shologan said.

"We had some mistakes that cost us big time but there were some positives. The offence moved the ball and scored, we just had some plays that didn't go our way on both sides of the ball."

Both Ottawa quarterbacks, Henry Burris and Danny O'Brien, threw a pick six while their counterpart Zach Collaros tossed a touchdown pass and no interceptions.

The Tiger-Cats (8-9) needed the win because they close out the regular season next week against the Montreal Alouettes (8-8) while the Toronto Argonauts (7-9) host the Redblacks (2-15).

With the West Division having already claimed the cross-over playoff berth, only two of the teams in the East Division will make the playoffs.

"We need Toronto not to win out. We're pulling for a loss this weekend, honestly," Tiger-Cats coach Kent Austin said.

"All we can do is take care of what we can take care of and now that's winning next week regardless of what happens in Toronto and Montreal's game this weekend. We needed to put ourselves in a position to possibly challenge for the division and get the bye week, so we'll see what happens this weekend."

The teams traded field goals in the first half of the fourth quarter with Justin Medlock connecting from 28-yards to put the Tiger-Cats up 27-22 before Brett Maher hit from 42-yards to pull the Renegades to within two points at 27-25.

Then, with less than five minutes to play, while pinned deep in his own end, Burris threw an interception that Delvin Breaulx returned 26-yards for a touchdown.

That gave the Tiger-Cats a 34-25 lead and the rest was left up to their defence, who intercepted another Burris pass — this one in the end zone with less than two minutes to play.

"Our defence held strong when we had all the turnovers. Offensively we're moving the ball but we can't have that many turnovers. It's tough. We put ourselves in a hole and just couldn't get out of it," Redblacks guard Jon Gott said.

"We battled the whole way but we've got one more game. We'll come out and compete because we want to win. We're not here to give games away so we'll come out and put up a good fight."

Early in the third quarter the Tiger-Cats took their first lead as Medlock kicked a 22-yard field goal at 4:52 to put Hamilton up 17-15.

Jeremiah Johnson was quick to respond for the Redblacks, though, as his 26-yard touchdown run eight minutes into the third quarter put the Redblacks back on top 22-17.

The Redblacks were driving once again, but an interception return of 30 yards by Brandon Stewart put the Tiger-Cats on top again — this time 24-22 11 minutes into the quarter.

The Redblacks went into halftime with a 15-14 lead because of a defensive stand towards the end of the second quarter that not only kept the Tiger-Cats out of the end zone, but also drove them out of field goal range.

With the Redblacks driving inside the Hamilton end, O'Brien threw an interception that was returned 47 yards to the Ottawa 29 by Ed Gainy.

A penalty and a loss of 18-yards on a sack pushed the Tiger-Cats back to the Ottawa 44-yard line and then following an incomplete pass the Tiger Cats were forced to punt.

The Redblacks opened the scoring at 8:49 of the first quarter on a 39-yard single off a missed field goal from Maher following a drive that covered 42 yards on eight plays before stalling.

On their next series O'Brien took over for Burris for the first time and moved the ball well before getting injured. He did return later in the game.

Burris came back into the game and on the first play handed off to Johnson who ran in for the touchdown, giving the Redblacks an 8-0 advantage 13 minutes into the game.

The Tiger-Cats responded quickly in the second quarter when Brandon Banks teamed up with Collaros on a 13-yard catch-and-run touchdown at 3:40.

"There were plays that we needed. There was a big defensive stop at the end of the game, the defence came up with two big turnovers that put points on the board for us and that was huge with the offence struggling," Banks said.

"We have to win out to get to the playoffs so this was a huge win and hopefully we can carry it out to the next one and do the same thing."

The Redblacks regained an eight-point advantage just three minutes later when Matt Carter hauled in a 33-yard touchdown pass from Burris.

In that same series Burris completed a 19-yard pass to Carter that put him over 55,000 passing yards for his career. He is third on the all-time list, still well back of the 79,816 yards of leader Anthony Calvillo.

The excitement over that accomplishment and the Redblacks recent score was quickly quieted as Banks scored his second touchdown of the half, this one a 103-yard kickoff return at 7:09, just 37 seconds after the Redblacks touchdown.

{allcanada} Raonic battles Berdych for spot in Paris finals

1989 - Taylor Swift / Sons of Anarchy / How I Met Your Mother

Milos Raonic has already secured a spot in the ATP World Tour Final. Now the Thornhill, Ont., native is looking to add another finals appearance to his 2014 resume.

Raonic will play Tomas Berdych in the semifinal of the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris on Saturday, looking to continue what has already been a remarkable tournament for the 23-year-old.

Programming Alert: Watch Milos Raonic take on Tomas Berdych in the Paris Masters semifinals live on Sportsnet One. Coverage begins at 9:30 a.m. ET/6:30 a.m. PT

On his way to the semis, Raonic has dropped just one set and beat the legendary Roger Federer in order to earn his semifinal date.

Berdych, on the other hand, has had a bit of an easier road to the semifinals, with third-seed Stan Wawrinka getting knocked out by South African Kevin Anderson in the Round of 16.

Should Raonic beat Berdych, he'll advance to his third final of the year and 12th of his young career.

Coming into Paris, Raonic was on the ATP Finals bubble. In order to earn enough points to reach top eight in the world rankings and clinch the final spot in the prestigious event, Raonic needed David Ferrer to get knocked out earlier than him.

Fortunately for the Canadian, Ferrer lost in the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters to Kei Nishikori, giving Raonic a berth in the Nov. 11 event that takes place in London, England.

BLACKHAWKS (6-3-1) at MAPLE LEAFS (5-4-1)

TV: NHLN-US, CBC, CSN-CH

Season series: The Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs split two games last season; Peter Holland and Joffrey Lupul each scored twice in Toronto's 7-3 win at Air Canada Centre on Dec. 14, its first in nine games against Chicago dating back to Feb. 12, 2003.

Blackhawks team scope: While the rest of the Blackhawks headed for Toronto after a 5-4 shootout win against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday, goaltender Scott Darling was reassigned to Rockford of the American Hockey League. Darling started three games after Corey Crawford went down with an upper-body injury last week; he went 2-1-0 with a.933 save percentage and 1.98 goals-against average. Crawford, who backed up Darling in Ottawa, is healthy and expected to start against Toronto, with Antti Raanta as his backup. Raanta, who started the first three games following Crawford's injury, is likely to play Sunday at home against the Winnipeg Jets, according to the Chicago Tribune; if so, it would be his first start in eight days.

Maple Leafs team scope: Toronto returns home after a 4-1 road victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday moved the Maple Leafs over .500. Forwards Phil Kessel and Daniel Winnik each had a goal and two assists, more than making up for the loss of Lupul, who is out indefinitely after breaking a bone in his right hand at practice Thursday. Winnik, who took Lupul's place on a line with Kessel and Nazem Kadri, scored the 50th goal of his NHL career in his 500th game. Toronto is 5-0-0 when Kessel scores a goal (he has six) and 0-4-1 when he doesn't. The game will mark the first NHL matchup between Toronto forward James van Riemsdyk and younger brother Trevor van Riemsdyk, a Chicago defenseman.

{allcanada} Flames use third-period outburst to beat Predators

Garance Doré for Rifle Paper Co. at ShopManhattanite.com! Free Shipping on Any U.S. Order, Use Code: FREESHIPUS. Shop Now!

1989 - Taylor Swift / Sons of Anarchy / How I Met Your Mother

CALGARY -- A rash of injuries couldn't slow down the youth of the Calgary Flames.

Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan each had a goal and an assist, and Jonas Hiller made 28 saves to help the Flames rally for a 4-3 win against the Nashville Predators at Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday.

"You get more opportunity, and at the end of the day those are the times you've got to step up and show what you're made of," Monahan said. "Together as a team, that's how you win games. I think we stuck together. That's kind of our philosophy here. We have good leadership and good guys to lean on.

"That's a big help for us and that's really going to help us down the road."

The Flames entered the game without Mikael Backlund (abdominal strain), Matt Stajan (lower body) and Joe Colborne (upper body), three of their top four forwards in faceoffs taken this season. All three played in Calgary's 2-1 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday; Backlund was the only one to finish the game.

"Obviously you're going to feel pressure but I think that's the time for you to step up," Monahan said. "I think we didn't do the greatest down the middle tonight but I think we got a lot better and I got a lot better myself."

Calgary, also without Mason Raymond (shoulder), had called up Michael Ferland from the Adirondack Flames of the American Hockey League for his first career NHL game. But Ferland left in the second period after sustaining an upper-body injury and did not return.

"The young man was so excited," Flames coach Bob Hartley said. "Before the game, I go to him and said 'Ferly, did you have a good nap?' He said 'ya, ya'. I said 'did you sleep?' He said no.

"I guess it wasn't that good of a nap but he was so excited and it's too bad that he couldn't finish the game but we're going to get him back on his feet and he'll be good to go."

The Central Division-leading Predators (6-2-2) continue their six-game road trip Sunday against the Vancouver Canucks. They've split the first two games in Alberta, losing to the Flames after beating the Edmonton Oilers 4-1 on Wednesday.

"They came out strong," said Predators coach Peter Laviolette, who coached Gaudreau with the United States team at the IIHF World Championship in Minsk, Belarus, in May. "They capitalized on a couple plays. Johnny Gaudreau was good for a timespan in the third period, dangerous with the puck and making things happen. It was a bad four minutes. We were pressing the whole night, threw so many pucks at the net, opportunities at the net and couldn't seem to pull away. They caught us."

"He's a good player. Good players do that. They can change a game."

It was Markus Granlund, also recalled from Adirondack, who helped set up the first of three goals in a 4:01 span to start Calgary's comeback from a 2-1 third-period deficit. Granlund sent a cross-crease feed to Jiri Hudler, who tapped his third goal behind Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne 2:36 into the third to tie the game. Gaudreau had the second assist on the play.

"Certainly, in the third period, he was flying," Hartley said of Gaudreau. "Along with [Granlund] and [Hudler], their line was clicking. They were moving the puck well. They're three good skaters with unbelievable hockey sense. They're capable of making plays. They're capable of shooting. They were a big part of why we're leaving with two points."

Calgary went ahead at 4:23. With Nashville's Mattias Ekholm in the penalty box, TJ Brodie's centering feed to David Jones deflected off a defender in front of the net and went behind Rinne to give Calgary a 3-2 lead. It was Brodie's fourth of the season.

Gaudreau made it 4-2 at 6:37 when he fired a sharp-angled shot over Rinne's shoulder, prompting a timeout from the Predators. With an assist on the play, defenseman Deryk Engelland had his first point as a member of the Flames.

"My goal, I was just driving down the left side of the rink and just tried to take a quick shot on net," Gaudreau said. "I think it caught him off guard a little bit. I managed to get a win. Overall I think I'm trying to get better defensively and I've been talking with the coaching staff about that. It's good to create some more offense and do a good job in the defensive zone."

Gaudreau's goal stood as the game-winner because Nashville cut the deficit to one goal at 10:47. With Hudler in the penalty box and the puck deep in the Calgary zone, James Neal circled back up top and snapped his second goal of the game past Hiller's glove. It was his team-high seventh of the season.

The Predators pulled Rinne late in favor of the extra attacker but couldn't get the equalizer.

Gaudreau, the reigning Hobey Baker Award winner, was buzzing from the opening faceoff and generated the first good scoring chance of the game. He carried the puck through the neutral zone, dropped a shoulder before stepping untouched around Predators defenseman Anton Volchenkov and raced in alone on Rinne. But the Predators goaltender threw a pad out at 13:06 to keep the game scoreless.

Rinne thwarted Gaudreau again when he sprawled to stop the rookie's backhander from in tight after a Mark Giordano centering feed with 44 seconds remaining in the period.

"It's about momentum," Hartley said. "Whenever you can control the puck, that's the best defense. You don't have to spend time in your zone. You make plays. You're creative. We encourage everyone on the team to do this ...

"Tonight, it was Halloween dance for Johnny. He was dancing."

Each team hit a goal post early in the second period, but Monahan's perseverance paid off with the game's first goal.

With Nashville's Colin Wilson in the penalty box, Monahan's first shot hit the post, but he followed it up by corralling the rebound of Dennis Wideman's shot and beating Rinne at 4:23.

Nashville needed 67 seconds to get even. Ryan Ellis' point shot didn't make it all the way to the net, but Craig Smith found the puck and lifted his fourth of the season over a sprawled Hiller.

Nashville went ahead 2-1 at 11:09 when Mike Ribeiro won an offensive-zone draw cleanly onto the stick of Neal, who fired a shot through Hiller.

"For two periods, I loved the way we played," Neal said.

"In this League, if a team hangs around long enough and gets a few bounces, they're right back in it and gives themselves some life. It's just that six minutes in that third period where they got some life and we just couldn't get it back. Other than that, I liked the way we play on the road and it's a tough loss when you feel like you deserve better."

{allcanada} Markstrom falls short of AHL shutout record

1989 - Taylor Swift / Sons of Anarchy / How I Met Your Mother

Utica Comets goaltender Jacob Markstrom fell 30:09 short of the American Hockey League scoreless-streak record when he allowed a first-period goal against the Binghamton Senators on Friday.

Markstrom, a Vancouver Canucks prospect, allowed a goal to Alexander Guptill 5:55 into the game, ending his streak at 238:08.

Barry Brust of the Abbotsford Heat holds the record of 268:17, established in November 2012.

The Canucks, who have Ryan Miller and Eddie Lack, assigned Markstrom, 24, to the AHL prior to this season.

Markstrom was acquired by Vancouver as part of the trade that sent goalie Roberto Luongo to the Florida Panthers. The 31st pick of the 2008 NHL Draft, he is 12-27-5 with a 3.19 goals-against average and .896 save percentage in 47 NHL games, all but four with Florida.

COLUMBUS -- Daniel Winnik and Phil Kessel each had a goal and two assists on a makeshift line that included two points from Nazem Kadri when the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1 at Nationwide Arena on Friday.

Toronto goalie Jonathan Bernier lost his bid for a second straight shutout with 9:20 left in the third period when Cam Atkinson scored on the power play to make it 3-1.

Columbus (4-6-0) lost its fourth straight.

Bernier made 28 saves, and the Maple Leafs got a goal in the first period from Kessel, another by David Clarkson in the second, and scores from Kadri and Winnik, his first of the season and 50th of his NHL career, in the third.

Prior to the game, the Maple Leafs announced that left wing Joffrey Lupul would be out indefinitely after breaking his right hand in practice Thursday. Winnik moved into his spot on the top line.

Kessel scored his sixth goal of the season with 4:32 remaining in the first period after the initial ruling was that the puck did not completely cross the goal line. His shot slipped under goalie Curtis McElhinney, and Columbus defenseman Fedor Tyutin tried to keep it out of the net with his skate but replays showed he was a fraction too late to prevent the goal.

Toronto (5-4-1) is 5-0-0 when Kessel scores.

Clarkson made it 2-0 at 12:13 of the second period with a power-play goal 20 seconds after Blue Jackets defenseman Jack Johnson was called for interference. Dion Phaneuf took a shot from the center of the blue line, and Clarkson scored his third goal of the season by deflecting the puck to the ice before it skipped past McElhinney.

Kessel fed Kadri for his third goal to complete a 2-on-1 2:38 into the third period before Atkinson scored for the fifth time, with Ryan Johansen assisting to extend his point streak to 10 games, at 10:40.

Columbus has eight regulars out of the lineup including starting goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, top scoring defenseman James Wisniewski and six forwards, three of them centers. Right wing Corey Tropp did not return for the third period because of illness. The Blue Jackets did get back left wing Nick Foligno after missing one game with a stiff neck.

After Toronto tied its record with 10 shots on goal allowed in a 4-0 win against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, it took Columbus 8-1/2 minutes to get its first shot.

CANUCKS (7-3-0) at OILERS (4-5-1)

TV: CBC, TVA SPORTS

Season series: The Vancouver Canucks have defeated the Edmonton Oilers twice this season, and the common theme, as it has been for several seasons, was the domination of Vancouver's top-line twins Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin. They have combined with new linemate Radim Vrbata to generate four goals and nine assists in the two games.

Canucks team scope: Vancouver will be without forward Alexandre Burrows, who Friday was suspended for three games by the NHL Department of Player Safety for a late, illegal check to the head of Montreal Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin in a 3-2 overtime win Thursday. In anticipation, Burrows skated as an extra defenseman Friday; Jannik Hansen, who has three goals through 10 games on the fourth line, moved up into Burrows' spot on the second line; and Tom Sestito, who has yet to play this season, was on the fourth line. Expect coach Willie Desjardins to roll all four lines, continuing a trend that has seen every forward average more than 10 minutes per game. "The tempo we want to play needs four lines or we'll be too tired in the third [period]," said forward Brad Richardson, who has three goals in the past two games. "It keeps our energy high."

Oilers team scope: Edmonton ended a five-game losing streak to start the season and put together a four-game winning streak. It came against Eastern Conference opponents and ended as soon as the Oilers faced a Western Conference team again, a 4-1 loss to the Nashville Predators on Wednesday. The Oilers are 0-5-1 against the West, with the point coming in a shootout loss to the Canucks after blowing a couple of two-goal leads. "We only play these Eastern teams twice a year and we can take as many points as we can, but we have to find a way to beat the Western ones," forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins told the Edmonton Journal.

{allcanada} OHL fines Wolves after coach's expletive-filled media availability

TORONTO - The Sudbury Wolves were fined $7,500 by the Ontario Hockey League on Friday as a result of head coach Paul Fixter's comments during an expletive-filled media availability last week.

Fixter previously issued an apology for his actions following the Oct. 22 game between the Wolves and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at the Essar Centre.

Clearly frustrated with his team's performance in a 7-2 loss that left Sudbury with a 1-10-0 record, Fixter offered curt replies to questions from reporters.

At one point, he used a curse word to describe the Wolves' play after the first period of the game. When another reporter asked about his team's work ethic, a few more curse words were dropped during a testy exchange.

"I apologize for my use of profanity after last evening's loss to the Greyhounds,'' Fixter said the next day in a statement on the team's website. "I could have chosen my words more carefully, however, I stand by my players, the organization and the fans of the Sudbury Wolves Hockey Club.

"The coaching staff is a passionate group and we feel the stress of losing. We are working diligently to strive to improve our record and make the fans of the Sudbury Wolves proud.''

On Friday, the OHL said the team was fined for "the most unprofessional and inappropriate comments by head coach Paul Fixter" following the game.

The Wolves took a 12-game losing streak into Friday night's home game against the Sarnia Sting.

{allcanada} Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger Headed for a Split? ''Things Still Aren't Good,'' Says Source

Avril Lavigne, Chad Kroeger

Are Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger headed for a split after little more than a year of marriage?

Amid speculation that the two are planning to pull the plug on their romance, E! News has learned that the pair's relationship is still on the rocks, although the Nickelback rocker and the "Hello Kitty" singer, who wed in July 2013, have yet to make a decision as to whether to call it quits.

"Things still aren't good," a source tells E! News of the couple. "But Avril's friends are encouraging her to try and work it out. They don't like Chad, but she's already been through one painful divorce and they don't want to see her going through another unless there's no other option. Also, she and Chad haven't been married that long so her friends want her to make sure she's given it every chance before pulling the plug."

Chad Kroeger

Lavigne celebrated her 30th birthday last month sans her 39-year-old hubby and earlier this week, Kroeger hit up Hollywood hotspot Bar Marmont where he was photographed without his wedding ring.

Avril's "a bit lost right now," the source explained of the singer, who found herself on the receiving end of criticism following the release of her latest music video for her single "Hello Kitty". "Her career isn't in the best place and she's trying to figure out what she wants for her future. She's trying to write music and she paints, but her life is in limbo."

One thing that could possibly save the couple's marriage? Avril's dreams to become a mom.

"Motherhood is something she really wants for herself," the source said. "So this thing with Chad, it's going to go one of two ways. Either they're going to get rid of each other or there's a shot they might try to have a baby to save the marriage. My bet is they end up splitting."

Avril Lavigne

Last month, an insider told E! News that the musicians have been "fighting a lot" and are "having a lot of issues."

The two met when they were collaborating on Avril's album, but their efforts were met with less than stellar sales, which only created problems for the couple. "[Now that] the album didn't do as well as they had hoped…they're finding that they're not seeing eye to eye on a lot of things," the source said.

In addition to their professional issues, the two have been breaking their "marriage rules" after previously vowing to never go out to nightclubs or drink without each other.

"There's jealousy on both sides," the source added. "She flirts, he flirts. She's very insecure to begin with."

Avril and Chad got engaged in August 2012 following a whirlwind six-month courtship.

The two said "I do" in the South of France less than one year later, and in true "rock and roll" fashion, the pair partied with their closest pals for four days straight.

SENATORS (5-2-2) at BRUINS (6-6-0)

TV: TVA, CITY, NESN

Season series: The Boston Bruins and Ottawa Senators are meeting for the first time in 2014-15. Last season the teams split their season series 2-2-0. Center Patrice Bergeron led the Bruins with seven points in four games. Linemate Brad Marchand had six points for the Bruins. Senators forward Bobby Ryan scored three goals in the four games. The Bruins have won the past two games on home ice against Ottawa; the Senators haven't won at TD Garden since April 28, 2013.

Senators team scope: The Senators got a late goal from forward Mika Zibanejad on Thursday to force overtime and earn a point in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. Ottawa has lost three of its past four games following a four-game winning streak. Goaltender Craig Anderson made 35 saves on 39 shots Thursday and has a .934 save percentage this season. Goaltender Robin Lehner, who has a .939 save percentage, missed the game Thursday to attend the birth of his child. Coach Paul MacLean probably will have a decision to make about his starter against the Bruins. Forward Clarke MacArthur scored his Ottawa-best fifth goal of the season against the Blackhawks.

Bruins team scope: The Bruins defeated the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in overtime Thursday to improve to 2-1-0 since defenseman Zdeno Chara left the lineup because of a knee injury. With defensemen Kevan Miller (shoulder) and Torey Krug (finger) also out of the lineup, Boston went with three recent American Hockey League call-ups, Joe Morrow, Zach Trotman and David Warsofsky, as part of their defense corps, and they helped limited the Sabres to 15 shots on goal. Marchand, who was a game-time decision because of a minor injury, matched his season point total from the previous 11 games with three points (two goals, one assist). The Bruins juggled their offensive lines and it worked out well.

JETS (4-5-1) at RANGERS (5-4-0)

TV: SN, MSG

Season series: The Winnipeg Jets have won two of the past three games against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, including 5-2 on Dec. 2, 2013. New York and Winnipeg split the season series last season, with the Rangers winning at MTS Centre 4-2 on March 14. Winnipeg has won three of the past five games against the Rangers after New York won four straight against Winnipeg in the 2011-12 season.

Jets team scope: The Jets had a chance to win their third consecutive game Thursday against the New Jersey Devils, but couldn't hold a third-period lead and lost in a shootout. Winnipeg started its four-game road trip Tuesday with a 4-3 win against the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum. After playing in New York on Saturday, the Jets complete the road trip Sunday at the Chicago Blackhawks. Goalie Ondrej Pavelec has allowed five goals on 72 shots (.930 save percentage) in his past three starts (2-0-1).

Rangers team scope: The Rangers haven't played since Monday, when they scored five goals in the third period against the Minnesota Wild to win 5-4. They erased deficits of 3-0 after two periods and 4-2 midway through the third period. Rick Nash scored another goal, giving him nine in nine games. Before this season Nash never had scored nine goals in the first nine games of a season in his career. The Rangers will be without defenseman John Moore, who was suspended for five games Wednesday for his illegal check to the head of Minnesota center Erik Haula at 7:12 of the second period Monday. Michael Kostka is expected to play in Moore's place as the Rangers have six healthy and eligible defensemen on the roster. Dan Boyle is out with a broken hand.
