Steven Van Zandt moderated a panel with Mike Myers and talent manager Shep Gordon at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, but the "Austin Powers" star couldn't help but take over.

Our spy says Myers "made like Phil Donahue and started running into the crowd with his microphone so guests could ask questions."

The chat was for Myers' documentary on Gordon, the legendary music manager who repped Alice Cooper and Teddy Pendergrass before guiding the careers of chefs like Emeril Lagasse.

Director Myers revealed that he wanted to be the "Canadian [John] Cassavetes" before discovering improv and joining "SNL."

Among those in the crowd of the Oscar-buzzed film was Bennett Miller.
