[SurroundSound] Can you stream DVD-A Audio Object Files with a DLNA server?

I have a bunch of DVD-A discs stored as .iso files. I mount them on my
desktop (Mac), and I would like to stream the hi res DVD-A files
(Audio Object Files, or AOB's) to my Oppo BDP-93. Currently I am using
Twonky, and I can only stream the VOB Dolby Surround files in the
VIDEO_TS folder, not the AOB files in the AUDIO_TS folder. It seems
that Twonky does not support AOB streaming.

Is it possible to stream the AOB files? Or is it standard practice to
convert the files to Flac and stream them as Flac? I would love to be
able to stream the AOB's if possible.

Thanks in advance!

{allcanada} BLUE JAYS RETIRE ALOMAR'S NUMBER BEFORE GAME AGAINST RANGERS

CarParts.com

TORONTO -- Toronto Blue Jays fans have always had a special connection with Roberto Alomar and that bond was never more apparent than Sunday afternoon.

As the former second baseman addressed the crowd after his retired No. 12 was unfurled on a blue banner high above the field at Rogers Centre, a fan yelled out: "I love you Robbie!"

Without missing a beat, the recent Hall of Fame inductee shot back: "I love you too! I love all you guys!"

Alomar may have only spent five seasons in Toronto, but they represent the team's glory years. The dazzling infielder helped the Blue Jays win back-to-back World Series titles in 1992 and 1993 and made countless memorable plays that brought fans to their feet.

There was an excitement before the game against the Texas Rangers that harkened back to that time as people outside the stadium lined up thousands deep to get inside and be a part of history.

Alomar didn't disappoint, making his way to the field through the crowd flanked by two red-clad Mounties, shaking hands as fans snapped pictures and gave him a raucous standing ovation.

He was joined on stage in shallow centre field, just in front of a giant No. 12 that fittingly covered second base, by former manager Cito Gaston, team president and CEO Paul Beeston, his parents and former teammates.

Wearing a dark blue suit and a red tie, Alomar reflected on the moment and the two titles he won in Toronto.

"When I was a little boy I never expected to have my number retired," he told the crowd of 45,629. "I just played the game I love.

"My mom and dad taught me it doesn't matter how much money you earn, what you achieve or how much of a celebrity you are -- always be humble, and that's who I am."

A 12-time all-star and 10-time Gold Glove winner, Alomar is the first Blue Jay to have his number retired by the club in its 35-year history. The Blue Jays pulled out all the stops Sunday, with Alomar's No. 12 adorning the bag at second base and the turf behind home plate. The first 20,000 people through the turnstiles also received a commemorative bobblehead doll.

It has been a whirlwind week for Alomar, who along with former Jays general manager Pat Gillick was inducted to the Hall of Fame last weekend. He's the first player to be enshrined wearing a Blue Jays hat.

"This is a day that I will remember for the rest of my life," Alomar told reporters after the ceremony. "To share this moment with the fans and my family is emotional."

Beeston put the honour in perspective.

"I predict it will be many years before another number is even considered (for retirement)," he told the crowd.

Added current Toronto infielder John McDonald, who as on stage with Alomar: "Every Blue Jay who is privileged enough to wear this uniform has your standard to live up to."

The Blue Jays fed off the energy of the crowd, jumping out to an early lead as part of a 7-3 win.

"I think (the ceremony) took everybody back to a time when things were really rolling here," Jays manager John Farrell said afterwards. "It was a great environment today."

Alomar, who joined the Blue Jays along with outfielder Joe Carter in a December 1990 trade with San Diego for infielders Fred McGriff and Tony Fernandez, might be best remembered for his ninth-inning home run in Game 4 of the 1992 American League Championship Series off Oakland closer Dennis Eckersley.

That hit helped put Toronto into its first World Series.

"When I was traded to Toronto I was blessed to come and play for a great city, a great organization, and to me, the greatest manager," Alomar told the fans, referring to Gaston.

Although Alomar is the first Blue Jay to have his jersey retired, his No. 12 joins another at Rogers Centre. Major League Baseball retired Jackie Robinson's No. 42 in 1997.

Alomar's .307 average remains the highest in Blue Jays history (minimum 200 plate appearances). He also ranks second all-time in steals. Alomar signed with the Baltimore Orioles after the 1995 season and went on to play with the Cleveland Indians, New York Mets, Chicago White Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks.

In 17 seasons in the majors, Alomar batted .300 with 2,724 hits, 210 home runs, 474 steals and 1,134 RBIs. He was inducted into the Blue Jays Level of Excellence in 2008.

Despite all of his immaculate skills in the field and at the plate, Alomar was also involved in one of baseball's ugly moments. As a member of the Orioles in 1996, he was suspended after spitting on umpire John Hirschbeck during a dispute in Toronto. The two later made up but it is an incident some fans refuse to forget.

But that misstep was all but forgotten Sunday, as Gaston put into words what many in the crowd were probably thinking.

"Robbie's the greatest second baseman to ever play this game," Gaston said on stage. "We'd like to thank you Robbie, for all that you've done for us."

{allcanada} COCHRANE COMPLETES SWIMMING WORLDS WITH SECOND SILVER

CarParts.com

SHANGHAI, China -- Ryan Cochrane finished the world swimming championships as Canada's most decorated athlete, but left promising better things to come at next summer's London Olympics.

The Victoria native picked up his second silver of the meet on Sunday, finishing behind a world-record performance by China's Sun Yang in the men's 1,500-metre freestyle.

"My swim today was not really where I saw myself coming into these championships," said Cochrane. "I kind of just did what I needed to do to be second place. I think you can expect a lot more for me (in the future), especially the first half of the race.

"I think that will really change up the environment when it comes to being in London."

Yang broke Grant Hackett's world record that had stood for 10 years. He surged late in the race to finish in 14 minutes 34.14 seconds -- eclipsing Hackett's mark of 14:34.56 -- and beat Cochrane by more than 10 seconds.

The Canadian plans to be aggressive in one of swimming's most gruelling races and believes he's among a group of "four or five" men who will challenge the world record again at the Olympics.

"I'm hoping going in to next year that I can lead from the start and see where that takes me," said Cochrane. "I want to stay competitive in this event. I think I was in second place after the first 100 and kind of stayed there the rest of the way."

Cochrane's podium finish capped a world championships where Canadian athletes won seven medals -- four of them in swimming.

He also won silver in the 800-metre freestyle while Brent Hayden of Mission, B.C., took silver in the 100 freestyle and Toronto's Martha McCabe earned bronze in the women's 200-metre breaststroke.

"I love being able to wear the Maple Leaf and represent my country, just make a name for myself on the international stage," said Cochrane. "It's been an exciting team to be part of here. We're proving that we can actually be on the podium in multiple instances.

"I think that's really good for the team going in to next year."

Two other Canadian medals came in diving, and one in synchronized swimming.

The only other action on Sunday saw the Canadian men's 4x100 medley relay finish seventh. That was good enough to qualify the country for a spot in that race at the Olympics.

Even though Cochrane was feeling fatigued at the end of the world championships, he wasn't planning on enjoying much of a break after the competition.

"Knowing that it is less than a year to the Olympics it will probably be three or four days off and then back to work," said Cochrane. "I'm excited about that. Usually you dread going back to the pool after a couple weeks off when you put on a bit of weight.

"I'm excited to just better where I have been at this part of the season and hopefully take the whole year to improve that position."

{allcanada} Rasmus breaks out in series finale

CarParts CarParts CarParts CarParts CarParts

TORONTO--The Toronto Blue Jays spent the early part of Sunday honouring their past.

They then went out and reminded everyone why their present and immediate future is worthy of some attention as well.

On a day when Roberto Alomar's No. 12 became the first number retired in franchise history, the Blue Jays rode a strong outing from starter Brandon Morrow and a two-hit, two RBI day from newly-acquired Colby Rasmus to a 7-3 win over the Texas Rangers before a sold-out crowd of 45,629 at Rogers Centre.

The win allowed the Blue Jays (55-53) to close out July with a 15-11 record and an equally impressive weekend series victory over the A.L. West-leading Rangers (61-48) after holding them to three runs or less in each of the three games.

"A good series to win against Texas," said Blue Jays manager John Farrell following the game. "If we can take two of three we're making gains, we're making strides for sure."

As for Alomar, prior to the start of the game the former Blue Jay walked through the crowd and then across the diamond where he used to patrol second base before making his way to a stage in centre field where he was joined by several ex-Toronto teammates, family members and former manager Cito Gaston.

Following a speech by Blue Jays president Paul Beeston, the two men stood arm-in-arm and watched as a banner with Alomar's No. 12 dropped from the rafters and to officially take his number out of circulation.

"It's been a great day, I never expected so many people here," said Alomar, who on July 24 became the first player inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame wearing a Blue Jays cap. "The support they've given me has been unbelievable. This day will be a day that I remember for the rest of my life."

While the past couple of weeks may have belonged to Alomar off the field, the story on the field continued to be the resurgence of Edwin Encarnacion.

The 28-year-old --whose name had been bandied about in trade rumours and who still could be dealt should he clear waivers -- continued to wield a hot stick, smashing a two-run home run in the first inning off Rangers starter and losing pitcher C.J. Wilson (10-5) to give Toronto a 2-0 lead.

"When Eddie hit that two-run home run in the first, it seemed to set (the crowd) off and they were involved in the game," said Farrell. "It was a great atmosphere today."

Encarnacion will no doubt be sad to see July come to an end after hitting at a .312/.379/.505 clip for the month.

Meanwhile, Colby Rasmus -- acquired in Tuesday's 14-player blockbuster trade with the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago White Sox -- recorded his first two hits in a Toronto uniform including a two-out, two-run double in the fourth to put the Jays ahead 7-0.

Rasmus' third-inning single snapped an 0 for 13 skid.

"The first couple of days were definitely nerve-wracking, not being able to do some of the stuff I want to do," admitted Rasmus. "It was a pretty good day. I want to suck it up till Tuesday when we get back out there."

Toronto's seven runs were more than enough for starter Brandon Morrow (8-5), who rebounded nicely from a rough outing Tuesday against Baltimore to deliver seven strong innings of six-hit, two-run ball with two walks and a season-high 11 strikeouts to pick up the win.

Trevor Miller and Casey Janssen pitched the eighth while Frank Francisco closed things out in the ninth for Toronto in a non-save situation.

Morrow said the pre-game ceremony, sold-out crowd and strong performances by his fellow starters of late provided him with a welcome boost.

"I think it pumps up the guys on the field, it adds to that level of energy you can't really seem to get sometimes," he said of the packed house. "I think the rotation has found its stride. It's kind of one of those things where you pass the baton and want to keep going."

If the Blue Jays are to contend for a playoff position in 2012 or beyond they'll need much more of the same going forward from the 27-year-old Morrow and the 24-year-old Rasmus.

On Sunday at least, Farrell got an up-close look of what once was in Toronto and what he hopes is yet to come.

"On a day when we honoured one of the best players ever to come through this organization, in front of a packed house, there was a lot of electricity," he said. "It was a good showing all the way around."

NOTES: The Alomar ceremony delayed the start of the game by approximately 30 minutes… Farrell sat out Adam Lind for the second straight game to give him some rest… Prior to the game Farrell said he sat shortstop Yunel Escobar to give him rest, not as punishment for failing to run out a groundball in Saturday's 3-0 loss to Texas… Following an off day Monday, the Jays will open a three-game road series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

{allcanada} U2 wrap record-breaking tour in Canada

CarParts CarParts CarParts CarParts CarParts

U2 made history as they wrapped their 360 Tour in Canada on Saturday after pulling in more than $736 million and playing for 7.2 million fans around the world.

The Irish rockers took the stage in Moncton, New Brunswick for the final stop on the massive trek, which has become the highest-grossing tour ever since kicking off on June 30, 2009.

Supporting acts Carney and Arcade Fire warmed up the 75,000-strong crowd, before U2 took the stage for a set which included their hits I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Beautiful Day, Elevation and Sunday Bloody Sunday.

One of the evening's most poignant moments came when frontman Bono performed The Ballad of Springhill in honour of the nearby town destroyed by an earthquake in 1958.

Before taking their final bow, Bono sprayed the front rows with a bottle of champagne cracked open for the special occasion.

He told the crowd, "This is the best time we could be having anywhere."

{allcanada} TORONTO FC HAS LATE RALLY TO TIE TIMBERS ON THE ROAD

Buy Land From GovernmentAuction.com Buy Land From GovernmentAuction.com

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Peri Marosevic and Danny Koevermans scored goals during the final 20 minutes Saturday night to rally Toronto FC to a 2-2 tie with the Portland Timbers.

The Timbers built a 2-0 lead 57 minutes into the game on goals by Eddie Johnson and Jack Jewsbury before faltering down the stretch.

Portland (6-10-4) is 0-4-2 in its past six games at Jeld-Wen Field. Portland's last home win was May 21 over Columbus.

Toronto (3-11-10) remained winless in 12 road games this season. Toronto ended a four-game losing streak, but has won only once in its past 15 games.

Portland dominated the offensive play during the first half and the early stages of the second. The Timbers took a 1-0 lead when Johnson took a centring pass just outside the penalty box and blasted a shot into the left corner during the 23rd minute for his first goal of the season.

Jewsbury staked Portland to a 2-0 lead on a penalty kick during the 57th minute. Toronto's Andy Iro fouled Diego Chara in the penalty area, setting up Jewsbury's goal.

Toronto sliced the Timbers' lead in half in the 71st minute when Marosevic ripped a 20-yard shot past Portland goalie Troy Perkins. Koeverman scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute when he took a cross near the goal and finished with a short-range shot.

Next up for Portland is a home game Wednesday against Western Division leader Los Angeles. Toronto plays on the road for the fifth time in six games Saturday at DC United.

{allcanada} SHAUN WHITE EDGES CANADA'S GAGNON FOR X GAMES VICTORY

LOS ANGELES -- Given one last chance to win at the X Games, Shaun White showed he still knows how to seize a spotlight -- and a gold medal, too.

White won the X Games skateboard vert competition Saturday night, dramatically edging Montreal's Pierre-Luc Gagnon on their final run.

After crashing on his penultimate run, White scored a 93.00 with a dizzying sequence of tough tricks on his last chance against Gagnon, the three-time defending X Games champion. Gagnon crashed moments later, and White celebrated his first X Games title in vert since 2007, and just his second victory in eight tries.

"I put down probably the best run I've ever done in my skateboarding career," said White, the two-time Olympic snowboarding gold medallist . "I figured if Pierre beat it, he deserved it for sure."

Four-time gold medallist Bucky Lasek finished third with an 87.66. New York City's Elliot Sloan (67.66) and high-flying Adam Taylor (62.66) also made the final, but couldn't compete with the three dominant skaters in their sport's highest-profile competition.

White has a thriving two-sport career and international celebrity that transcends both disciplines, but he hadn't won the X Games' marquee skateboarding event in four years. He lost to Gagnon at last year's X Games, and didn't compete the previous year while focusing on his Olympic quest.

After both stars comfortably reached the final out of the 10-man first round, White made a flawless first run, but still fell behind after Gagnon posted a 91.66 on an impressive fourth run. White fell on his face on his next-to-last run, getting up holding his ribs and figuring his chances were gone.

But Gagnon, who lives near White in Carlsbad, Calif., likely missed a chance to end the competition during his own penultimate run. Instead, his crash left a little time on the clock in the 12-minute jam session, allowing every skater to make another run.

"Bob (Burnquist) told me I could have just run out the time and the contest would have ended," Gagnon said. "(White's) run was amazing. I'm not taking anything away from him. He deserved it."

White was grateful Gagnon didn't know he could have run out the clock.

"That's like taking a knee in football, though," White said to Gagnon with a grin after the competition. "That's like me winning without you there. It doesn't really count. ... Standing up there at the top, I remembered something my brother told me: 'Man, you've got to stop thinking and just do what you used to do. Just do your thing."'

With a reprieve, White landed an impressive combination of tricks for the winning score, bringing the Los Angeles crowd to its feet with a 720-degree spins and two body varial frontside 540s which included his signature flair with grabs.

White pumped his sleeveless arms and incited the roaring crowd after his run. When Gagnon fell on his first attempt at a trick off the halfpipe, White pumped his fist and hugged several friends, employees and strangers.

"After I landed that (720), I thought to myself, 'I'm making this happen, I don't care,"' White said. "We're still friends, and I know he's going to be gunning for me next year."

White has figured out how to transition between his two sports with the changing of the seasons, although it gets tougher every year. The 24-year-old White finds his spring move from snowboarding to skateboarding to be tougher than the reverse in the fall, and he does his early-season skateboard training by himself out of embarrassment with his rustiness.

But White has balanced his myriad endorsement deals and celebrity with hard work that finally paid off at the X Games. He finished third behind Lasek and Gagnon at last week's Dew Tour stop in Ocean City, Md., but figured his performance would improve under the spotlight of action sports' biggest competition in downtown Los Angeles.

White has won 21 combined gold medals in the summer and winter versions of ESPN's made-for-television competition.

"If X Games wasn't here, I would still be doing the things I'm doing, because it's what I like to do," White said. "I found this when I was younger. It basically found me, and I love this sport. The feeling I get when I'm landing a new trick, there's nothing better. I love that the X Games has taken guys like ourselves and put us on this stage to be recognized as athletes."

{allcanada} BURRIS POWERS STAMPEDERS TO VICTORY OVER ROUGHRIDERS

REGINA - The Calgary Stampeders continued to thrive on the road Saturday night and the Roughriders still couldn't find their footing in Saskatchewan.

Henry Burris ran in a touchdown as Calgary took advantage of the Roughriders' inability to move the ball forward in a 22-18 victory in Canadian Football League action.

The game improved Calgary (3-2) to 3-0 on the road, while Saskatchewan (1-4) dropped to 0-3 within the confines of Mosaic Stadium.

Burris attributes Calgary's impressive road record to an even-keeled approach on the field.

"A lot of our veteran guys have done a great job stepping up and making sure we stay focused," said the quarterback. "Even through the tough times when we're not scoring the kind of points we want to score, we're sticking together.

"It's almost like an us-against-the-world mentality and that's how we play when we go on the road."

Burris, in his 12th year in the CFL, knows what it takes to succeed in the competitve West Division.

"Against a team we have to play against four times this year, it's critical we get them here on the road in their place, which is never an easy place to win, and get us some momentum." said Burris.

Had Calgary lost, they would have been in a tie with Saskatchewan for second place in the West Division. Now, they are two games up on the Riders and just two games back of the Edmonton Eskimos for first place.

"After last week at home — we have to win one at home for our fans — we have to take this momentum and carry it over to next week," said Burris, referring to last week's 24-19 loss to the Eskimos in Calgary. "But its good to be two games up on them instead of tied with Saskatchewan."

Burris' counterpart on Saskatchewan was not as buoyant.

"It's tough," said Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant. "Coming in here is supposed to be like a hornet's nest for other teams and to go 0-3, this is very tough.

"Our fans are very committed to helping us out and very loud out there. We need to get home wins."

The Riders didn't do themselves any favours during the game.

Trapped inside their own eight-yard line, Saskatchewan failed to kill the final 35 seconds of the first half — the biggest gaffe being a time count penalty on Durant during second down with 10 ticks left on the clock. Saskatchewan elected to punt the ball from their own end zone, but a no yards penalty set up a 45-yard Rene Paredes field goal on the last play of the half.

The Riders responded on their first possession of the third quarter when a tipped Durant pass went directly into the arms of Weston Dressler, who ran 58 yards to pay dirt.

On their next series, however, Saskatchewan was in the shadow of their own goal posts again and failed to move the ball. They conceded a safety touch and then a field goal on Calgary's ensuing possession. That field goal gave Calgary an 18-15 lead.

The Riders faced long fields throughout Saturday's contest, including three possessions that started inside their own 10-yard line, but couldn't move the ball very well.

"That's frustrating and something we have to get better at," said Saskatchewan coach Greg Marshall. "Obviously there are going to be times when we are backed up and we have to be able to make first downs."

Despite taking advantage of a pair of Rider mistakes, Calgary struggled to put away the home team. They reached the end zone only once — on an eight-yard run by Burris in the second quarter — and were forced to settle for five Paredes field-goal attempts. He was successful on four of them.

Burris, who was 24-of-36 for 255 yards and an interception, wasn't overly concerned with that. He believes his team is heading in the right direction and is happy his team is able to move the ball.

He pointed out to Calgary's final drive of the game as proof that the Stamps' offence is coming around.

"The problem isn't driving the ball," said Burris. "We can move the ball and stay on the field a long time, but we have to continue to work hard and finish drives with sevens.

"That late drive, not many teams can do that. But for an offence that's struggling, that's pretty damn good."

Calgary took possession of the ball at their own 35-yard line with 2:19 remaining in the game and a four-point advantage. Burris and crew ate up 2:08 and left the Riders in a hopeless position on their own 16-yard line.

Durant, who was 16-for-28 for 215 yards, scored Saskatchewan's other touchdown on a nine-yard run in the second quarter. Johnson had a 20-yard field goal — which was needed after Jason Clermont dropped a touchdown pass on the final play of the third quarter — and a 52-yard punt single to round out the scoring.

Durant's favourite target of the night was Dressler, who led all receivers with six catches for 103 yards.

NOTES: Riders offensive lineman Gene Makowsky played in his 271st game with Saskatchewan, tying him with Roger Aldag for most games played with the team. He also joins Mike O'Shea for 14th most games played in the CFL.
