Milos Raonic has already secured a spot in the ATP World Tour Final. Now the Thornhill, Ont., native is looking to add another finals appearance to his 2014 resume.
Raonic will play Tomas Berdych in the semifinal of the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris on Saturday, looking to continue what has already been a remarkable tournament for the 23-year-old.
Programming Alert: Watch Milos Raonic take on Tomas Berdych in the Paris Masters semifinals live on Sportsnet One. Coverage begins at 9:30 a.m. ET/6:30 a.m. PT
On his way to the semis, Raonic has dropped just one set and beat the legendary Roger Federer in order to earn his semifinal date.
Berdych, on the other hand, has had a bit of an easier road to the semifinals, with third-seed Stan Wawrinka getting knocked out by South African Kevin Anderson in the Round of 16.
Should Raonic beat Berdych, he'll advance to his third final of the year and 12th of his young career.
Coming into Paris, Raonic was on the ATP Finals bubble. In order to earn enough points to reach top eight in the world rankings and clinch the final spot in the prestigious event, Raonic needed David Ferrer to get knocked out earlier than him.
Fortunately for the Canadian, Ferrer lost in the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters to Kei Nishikori, giving Raonic a berth in the Nov. 11 event that takes place in London, England.
