Utica Comets goaltender Jacob Markstrom fell 30:09 short of the American Hockey League scoreless-streak record when he allowed a first-period goal against the Binghamton Senators on Friday.

Markstrom, a Vancouver Canucks prospect, allowed a goal to Alexander Guptill 5:55 into the game, ending his streak at 238:08.

Barry Brust of the Abbotsford Heat holds the record of 268:17, established in November 2012.

The Canucks, who have Ryan Miller and Eddie Lack, assigned Markstrom, 24, to the AHL prior to this season.

Markstrom was acquired by Vancouver as part of the trade that sent goalie Roberto Luongo to the Florida Panthers. The 31st pick of the 2008 NHL Draft, he is 12-27-5 with a 3.19 goals-against average and .896 save percentage in 47 NHL games, all but four with Florida.
