Michael Clarke scored twice, including the winner, as the Peterborough Petes defeated the Windsor Spitfires 7-5 in the Ontario Hockey League on Thursday.
Chase Hatcher, Stephen Pierog, Jonatan Tanus, Stephen Nosad and Greg Betzold had the other goals for the Petes (15-27-7), while Nick Ritchie chipped in with three assists.
Michael Giugovaz made 30 saves to pick up the win.
Clarke's first-period goal and third-period winner were his first two as a Pete since being acquired from Windsor earlier this month.
The Petes jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first period and upped that advantage to 5-2 midway through the second.
Windsor goalie Jaroslav Pavelka was pulled after allowing five goals on 26 shots and was replaced by Jordan Dekort, who made 20 saves in a relief effort
Nick Ebert, Kerby Rychel, Remy Giftopoulos, Brady Vail, Ben Johnson scored for the Spitfires (20-22-7), who got three goals in just under eight minutes to knot the game at 5-5 after two periods of play.
But Clarke's second of the night and Betzold's empty-netter in the third period were the difference.
Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Mississauga 3 Brampton 4 and Sudbury 4 Niagara 1.
Battalion 4 Steelheads 3
At Brampton, Ont., Blake Clarke scored a goal and added an assist as the Battalion held off Mississauga.
Barclay Goodrow and Nick Paul had the other goals for Brampton (23-18-8).
Stuart Percy, Riley Brace and Trevor Carrick replied for the Steelheads (22-22-4).
Wolves 4 IceDogs 1
At St. Catharines, Ont., Jeff Corbett scored two goals as Sudbury defeated Niagara.
Evan de Haan and Ray Huether had the other goals for the Wolves (23-17-10).
Ryan Strome replied for the IceDogs (23-23-4), who outshot Sudbury 33-25 overall but are now winless in eight games.
