Victor Provencher had a goal and three assists and Antoine Bibeau was forced to make just 20 saves for the shutout Thursday as the P.E.I. Rocket embarrassed the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 8-0 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Alexis Pepin, Deverick Ottereyes, Nathan Yetman, Louick Marcotte and Anthony Cortese each added a goal and an assist for P.E.I. (27-20-2), while Patrick McGrath and Ben Duffy also scored.
Erik Robichaud picked up two assists.
Alex Bureau allowed all eight goals on 51 shots in taking the loss for Cape Breton (10-32-8).
In the only other game in the QMJHL, Halifax demolished Chicoutimi 7-0.
At Charlottetown, the Rocket led 4-0 after the first period before adding Pepin's goal at 15:19 of the second.
Cortese, Duffy and Provencher then scored in a span of just over eight minutes in the third period to complete the rout.
Mooseheads 7, Sagueneens 0
At Chicoutimi, Que., Jonathan Drouin had two goals and two assists and Zachary Fucale made 26 saves as Halifax (40-5-3) shut out the Sagueneens (24-24-4).
