I would add from my own experience buying a Pioneer a couple years back (the 1019 same model 2 years back) that it really depends on what you want to drive. I was fine using some cheap Sony towers but when I bought B&W I found that the Pioneer was not able to drive them well. I actually ended up with a Yammy with a bit more headroom and that solved my issue. So I would think as the other person said what kind of speakers you will be using as that is likely the single biggest factor in your chain. My opinion of course. I also agree a receiver might not be the best choice. For MC sources it may be your best best however.
