Re: [SurroundSound] Re: New AV Receiver

I would add from my own experience buying a Pioneer a couple years back (the 1019 same model 2 years back) that it really depends on what you want to drive.  I was fine using some cheap Sony towers but when I bought B&W I found that the Pioneer was not able to drive them well.  I actually ended up with a Yammy with a bit more headroom and that solved my issue.  So I would think as the other person said what kind of speakers you will be using as that is likely the single biggest factor in your chain.  My opinion of course.  I also agree a receiver might not be the best choice.  For MC sources it may be your best best however.

It would be helpful to know the size and shape of your room, your firniture setup, your budget for the entire system, and your planned uses...A receiver may not be your best choice...

Hi all, seeking advise regarding a new AV Receiver around the $1,000 Aussie Dollars. Thinking Denon 3312, Pioneer VSX1021 etc.  Also a new set of Speakers to match?
