VAL-D'OR, Que. -- Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored three times and Francois Lacerte made 31 saves Sunday as the Gatineau Olympiques held on to defeat the Val-d'Or Foreurs 6-4 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Mathieu Gagnon and Christian Ouellet each added a goal and an assist for Gatineau (4-5-0), while Burke Taylor also scored.
Alexandros Soumakis and Rock Regimbald had two assists each for the Olympiques, who led 5-0 after two periods.
Michael Beaudry and Benjamin Casavant had a goal and an assist for the Foreurs (4-5-1), while Mathieu Guertin and Nicolas Larocque-Marcoux also scored in a wild third period.
Beaudry made it made it 5-4 with 4:35 left in regulation, but Pageau completed his hat trick into an empty net at 19:21.
Francois Tremblay started for Val-d'Or, but gave up five goals on 22 shots before getting pulled after two periods.
Alexandre St-Arnaud made two saves in relief as Gatineau directed just three shots toward the Foreurs' goal in the third period.
