Colin Reddin had a goal and an assist to help the Regina Pats to a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Swift Current Broncos in the Western Hockey League on Wednesday night.

Killian Hutt, Cody Carlson and Dane Muench also scored for Regina, while Jordan Weal and Thomas Frazee chipped in with two assists apiece.

Stepan Novotny had two goals and an assist for Swift Current, while Jordan Evans added a goal and an assist and captain Justin Dowling contributed two assists.

The Pats (1-2-0) earned their first win of the season in dramatic fashion. Down 3-1 to start the third period, the Pats exploded for three goals in just over two minutes to steal the game from the Broncos.

Swift Current (1-2-0) opened up the scoring early in the first when Novotny scored two goals in less than a minute, both banged in off rebounds.

Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Red Deer 4 Kootenay 2; Tri-City 4 Kelowna 3; Edmonton 3 Prince Albert 1; Brandon 5 Moose Jaw 2; and Portland 4 Vancouver 3.

At Regina, Reddin, a 20-year-old product of Corona Del Mar, Calif., replied for Regina with a pretty goalmouth redirection into top corner to finish a nice passing play set up by Weal and Frazee.

The Broncos added to their lead in the second period when Evans one-timed a slapshot from the point to make it a 3-1 game. The power play goal also marked the end of the night for Regina goalie Damien Ketlo, who was replaced by Dawson Guhle.

But it was Guhle who ended up with the win, making nine saves on nine shots while Hutt, Carlson and then Muench clawed the Pats back with three third-period goals.

Mark Friesen made 26 saves on 30 shots for the Broncos.
