CALGARY -- Henry Burris says photos of him shirtless and wearing a bra while standing next to a woman also in a bra were a birthday prank.
The Calgary Stampeders quarterback questions why the photos are suddenly circulating after his sub-par performance in a loss to B.C. on Saturday. Burris and the Stampeders played their worst game of the season in a 29-10 loss to the B.C. Lions.
In the photos, Burris is wearing a black bra, standing next to a woman in a white bra. Burris, who is married with two young sons, turned 35 on June 4.
"It was just a get-together with friends celebrating my birthday and they played a little prank on me and, hey, I guess somebody else had other intentions," Burris told reporters this week.
"My family, we're very annoyed about it because we knew about the situation from the beginning. It's amazing it came up after a loss, but I guess nobody likes a loser right?
"My bottom line is this, I'm not going to be here interviewing, glorifying somebody trying to mess up a good home. I love my family and that's the bottom line."
When asked what he thought of the photos, Calgary coach John Hufnagel said: "I thought the bra size was too large."
The Stampeders host the Montreal Alouettes on Friday.
