The Vancouver Canucks signed centre Max Sasson to a one-year, $775,000 contract extension on Monday.
Sasson was set to become a restricted free agent Tuesday.
The 24-year-old from Birmingham, Mich., made his NHL debut this past season and recorded seven points (three goals and four assists) in 29 games.
Sasson also had 32 points (13 goals and 19 assists) in 41 games during the regular season with the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks.
He added 14 points (five goals and nine assists) in 24 playoff games to help Abbotsford capture the Calder Cup.
After two seasons at Western Michigan University, Sasson signed an entry-level deal with Vancouver as an undrafted free agent in 2023.
