The Vancouver Canucks' busy week continued Wednesday afternoon with the signing of defenceman Tucker Poolman to a four-year deal.
Per the team's press release, the contract carries a $2.5-million cap hit.
Poolman, a 2013 Jets fifth-rounder, has spent the past four seasons in the Winnipeg organization between the Jets and AHL Moose. In 120 career regular-season games over the course of three seasons with the Jets, the 28-year-old has registered five goals and 19 points while seeing an increasingly heavy workload in terms of time on ice and special teams assignments.
He now joins a Canucks blue line that's undergoing plenty of change this summer, including the addition of Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Luke Schenn, the depature of Nate Schmidt, and the re-signing of Travis Hamonic.
