NEW YORK - The Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames and the Stanley Cup trophy's visit to China for the 2018 O.R.G. NHL China Games™ are chronicled in NHL CHINA GAMES ALL ACCESS, a 30-minute behind-the-scenes television special produced by NHL Original Productions. NHL CHINA GAMES ALL ACCESS premieres in Canada on Sportsnet ONE on Friday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. ET and in the U.S. on NBCSN on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 4 p.m. ET. In addition, the special makes its NHL Network™ debut on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 2:30 p.m. ET.
The 2018 O.R.G. NHL China Games marked the NHL's return to China for a pair of preseason games between the Bruins and Flames. While NHL CHINA GAMES ALL ACCESS recounts their Sept. 15 matchup at Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center in Shenzhen and Sept. 19 contest at Cadillac Arena in Beijing, the special also focuses on the teams enjoying each city as tourists. Both the Bruins and Flames climb the Great Wall of China and relish the view from the iconic landmark. They also visit street markets to shop for souvenirs, interact with locals and sample the cuisine.
Fans will be treated to the Stanley Cup's first visit to China in its 126-year history. The iconic trophy traveled to Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Beijing, capturing the attention and awe of fans of all ages. The special will give a revealing look at hockey fans in China and their burgeoning interest in the NHL.
In addition to the glimpses of preparations for both games and excitement among fans, NHL CHINA GAMES ALL ACCESS features interviews with members of the Bruins and Flames - including forward James Neal and head coach Bill Peters, the newest members of the Calgary organization - as well as mic'd up content from players, coaches and officials.
NBCSN will re-air NHL CHINA GAMES ALL ACCESS on the following dates (all times Eastern): Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 1:30 a.m. following the Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks game; Thursday, Oct. 4, at 6 p.m. before the Nashville Predators and New York Rangers contest; and Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. before the San Jose Sharks and Philadelphia Flyers matchup. NHL Network's encore presentations of the special are set for Sunday, Sept. 30, at 5:30 p.m.; Monday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 6, at 12:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The special also will be available for viewing on NHL.com, the NHL Facebook Show Page, the NHL YouTube channel and NHL IGTV.
