Toronto Argonauts quarterback Ricky Ray is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a scary neck injury in the team's Week 2 loss to the Calgary Stampeders. according to a report from 3DownNation's Justin Dunk.

Dunk added that Ray has been told to have no contact for several months.

Ray was carted off the field in Saturday night's 41-7 loss to the Stampeders at BMO Field in a Grey Cup rematch.

Late in the third quarter, Ray was hit hard and sandwiched between a pair of Stamps defensive linemen. After receiving treatment on the field, he was stretchered off as the game was delayed for nearly 20 minutes.

James Franklin took over for Ray in the loss and is expected to start in Ray's place moving forward.
