The Edmonton Oilers are set to get one more healthy body back in their lineup, as defenceman Oscar Klefbom has been activated from injured reserve, the club announced Friday.
Klefbom missed his team's past three games while dealing with a shoulder injury. However, with the extended break and some time to rest, the 24-year-old said he's pain-free and prepared to return.
"I'm ready to play," Klefbom told the Edmonton Sun on Thursday. "It's up to the coaches, but I feel good to go. Shoulder feels a lot better. I'm ready. I got an injection too, and that really helped. Hopefully, it's going to turn out, the season is going to be good now. It feels really good."
Klefbom has just nine points through 33 games this season, thus far unable to produce at the clip he showed last season when he posted 38 points through a full 82 games.
With Andrej Sekera recently returning to the lineup as well, Friday's tilt against Chicago should mark the first time all season that Edmonton takes the ice with a fully healthy roster.
