Calgary Flames forward Michael Frolik suffered a broken jaw after taking a puck to the face in Thursday's shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks. His status is week-to-week.
Frolik took a Brent Burns shot to the mouth area in the second period of Thursday's game and left a trail of blood on the ice on his way to the bench.
Without Frolik, the Flames primarily used Jaromir Jagr and Troy Brouwer on the right side of their second line with Matthew Tkachuk and Mikael Backlund.
Calgary currently sits in fourth place in the Pacific Division, but is just one point back of the Minnesota Wild for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
The Flames visit the Anaheim Ducks Friday.
