{allcanada} QUALIFYING: Lacroix Edges Labbe For Pole

 

SASKATOON, Sask. - Kevin Lacroix is having a pretty good day so far at Wyant Group Raceway.

After leading the field of 20 cars throughout practice earlier in the day, he backed it up by winning his fourth career E3 Sprak Plugs Pole Award during qualifying for race #1 of the Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 100s tonight in Saskatoon.

Lacroix was able to finish just .020 seconds ahead of Alex Labbe to win his second pole award on an oval track. Lacroix finished with a fast time of 14.645 seconds (81.857 mph) to put him on the top spot.

Labbe finished with a fast time of 14.669 seconds to start alongisde Lacroix on the front row.

D.J. Kennington qualified third with Donald Theetge starting fourth and defending race winner Cayden Lapcevich rounding out the top five.

Gary Klutt was sixth with Andrew Range, who the pole for this event last season, seventh. Alex Tagliani, L.P. Dumoulin and Noel Dowler completed the top 10.

The Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 100s begin at 6 p.m. MT with the second race slated for approximately 8:30 p.m. MT. The starting lineup for the second race will be determined by the fastest lap each driver turns in the first race.
