MONTREAL — The Montreal Canadiens returned two players to their junior teams on Sunday, shipping defenseman Noah Juulsen to Everett of the Western Hockey League and goaltender Michael McNiven to Owen Sound of the Ontario Hockey League.
Defenceman Yuri Alexandrov, who was in camp on a tryout, was released.
There were no surprises among the twenty-one players were assigned to the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League, who begin training camp Monday. The IceCaps will play three pre-season games, all against the Toronto Marlies.
Among the 36 players still in camp is defenceman Mikhail Sergachev of the OHL's Windsor Spitfires.
