TORONTO — Frederik Andersen will make his Maple Leafs debut on Tuesday night.

Toronto's new No. 1 goaltender is likely to play a period when the Leafs play the Ottawa Senators in Saskatoon, according to head coach Mike Babcock.

"I don't know how much he's going to play, but he's going to definitely play a period," Babcock said after practice Monday. "We'll see how he feels."

The 27-year-old suffered a suspected shoulder injury in an Olympic qualifier just before the start of the World Cup of Hockey. Andersen was expected to compete with Jaroslav Halak for Team Europe's No. 1 goalie position.

The Leafs swung a deal for Andersen in the summer, also signing the former Anaheim Duck to a five-year deal.
