TORONTO/NEW YORK -- Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry will replace Los Angeles Kings forward Jeff Carter on Team Canada at the World Cup of Hockey 2016, Hockey Canada announced Friday.
Perry, 31, has 330 goals and 664 points in 804 career NHL games. He had 34 goals and 28 assists in 82 regular-season games and four assists in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games last season.
Carter, 31, sustained a lower-body injury while training and is week-to-week, according to LA Kings Insider. He had 24 goals and 38 assists in 77 regular-season games and two goals in five playoff games last season.
The World Cup will be held from Sept. 17 to Oct. 1 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
