Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive end Shawn Lemon has requested a trade, reports the Calgary Sun.

According to TSN Radio's Dave Naylor of Naylor and Landsberg in the Morning, the request was less formal and more of a message saying that if the club didn't have a front-line role for him, he would rather go elsewhere.

The Sun reported that several teams were inquiring about the 27-year-old's services over the past week, including the Toronto Argonauts and his former team the Calgary Stampeders.

Lemon is in his sixth season in the CFL and has recorded 28 sacks and 13 forced fumbles over 47 career games.

The Roughriders return to action on Friday in a road matchup with the Edmonton Eskimos (10pm et/7pm pt, TSN Network).
