{allcanada} Netflix Renews Will Arnett’s ‘Flaked’ For 2017 Second Season

Netflix has officially renewed the Will Arnett and Mark Chappell-created sitcom Flaked for a second season set to air in 2017. The news of the show's return was announced earlier tonight on its Facebook page.

In May it was widely reported that Flaked was under consideration for renewal with a reduced order of six episodes (season 1 was eight episodes long). Tonight's announcement confirms those reports, though the exact number of episodes was not revealed. Netflix did not include Flaked in its announced renewals made earlier today during the streaming service's TCA presentation.

Executive produced by Arnett and Chappell, Flaked co-stars Ruth Kearney, David Sullivan, George Basil and Lina Esco and stars Arnett as Chip, a ostensibly recovering alcoholic living a meandering slacker life in Venice, California. Serving as an unreliable and increasingly unlikeable mentor to his friends in the recovery community, over the course of season 1 Chip's somewhat shady past comes to haunt him as his lies and well-intentioned mistakes pile up. The series, which debuted March 11, extended the relationship between Netflix and Arnett, who also executive produces and stars in the streaming service's acclaimed animated series Bojack Horseman. Bojack Horseman's complete 12-episode third season became available for streaming on July 22.
