FLAMES (32-38-6) at DUCKS (42-23-10)
TV: 10 p.m. ET; FS-W, SN, NHL-TV
Season series: The Anaheim Ducks have defeated the Calgary Flames four times. The Ducks won 5-3 on Nov. 24 and 5-2 on Feb. 21 at home, and 1-0 on Dec. 29 and 6-4 on Feb. 15 in Calgary. Anaheim captain Ryan Getzlaf has one goal and six assists, and goalie John Gibson has three wins and a .948 save percentage. Jiri Hudler led the Flames with two goals and two assists.
Flames team scope: Goalie Joni Ortio is expected to start. He made 22 saves in a 5-2 win against the Arizona Coyotes on Monday. There was no update on forward Michael Frolik, who left the game with an upper-body injury. Coach Bob Hartley said after the game that Frolik's injury was not bad. The Flames did not skate Tuesday. Left wing Johnny Gaudreau (upper body), forward Josh Jooris (lower body), goalie Kari Ramo (knee), and defensemen Jyrki Jokipakka (upper body), Ladislav Smid (neck) and Dennis Wideman (triceps) did not play in Arizona.
Ducks team scope: Defensemen Kevin Bieksa (upper body) and Simon Despres (upper body) are out. At this point in the season, coach Bruce Boudreau said he does not want to rush injured players. "We have a lot of little injuries," Boudreau told the Ducks website. "With so many games, if you're playing with guys that are hurt, it compounds the whole thing." The Ducks are 4-1-1 in the past six games and have a six-game winning streak against the Flames dating to the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Anaheim trails the Los Angeles Kings by one point in the Pacific Division with a game in hand.
