{allcanada} Toronto Marlies release goaltender Ray Emery from PTO

The Toronto Marlies have released veteran goaltender Ray Emery from his professional tryout, ending his stint with the AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Emery signed with the Marlies on Dec. 18 after injuries to goaltenders James Reimer and Garret Sparks left the Leafs' organization thin between the pipes.

He played in just six games, going 3-2-0 with a .888 save percentage and a 3.00 goals-against average.

Emery, 33, has played in 287 NHL games with a 145-86-28 record. He was a starter with the Ottawa Senators when they made the Stanley Cup Final in 2007, and has also spent time with the Philadelphia Flyers, Anaheim Ducks, and Chicago Blackhawks.

He owns a career .906 save percentage and 2.70 goal-against average.
