{allcanada} QMJHL: Weber scores late goal as Islanders rally past Remparts

 

QUEBEC CITY, Que. - Dexter Weber broke a tie at 19:29 of the third period as the Charlottetown Islanders rallied past the Quebec Remparts 4-3 on Sunday afternoon in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Bradley Kennedy tied the game with his second of the afternoon earlier in the third for Charlottetown (29-26-7). Filip Rydstrom had the other.

Aaron Dutra, Bronson Beaton and Auguste Impose scored for the Remparts (28-26-6).

Calgary Flames draft pick Mason McDonald turned aside 24 shots for the win in net as Evgeny Kiselev made 23 saves in defeat. Callum Booth started in net for Quebec and stopped all seven shots he faced in 11:19.

The Islanders failed to score on one power play while the Remparts were 2 for 5.

Quebec announced on its Twitter account that it set a Canadian Hockey League regular season attendance record with 412,605 fans so far this year at the Centre Videotron.

SAGUENEENS 3 ARMADA 2

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Nicolas Roy scored the winner on a power play in the third period as Chicoutimi edged the Armada.

Artem Maltsev and Landon Schiller also chipped in for the Sagueneens (27-23-9).

Krristian Pospisil opened the scoring 1:10 into the first with a power-play goal while Samuel Hunter had the other for Blainville-Boisbriand (22-30-8).

William Gignac of the Armada was assessed a game misconduct for boarding six minutes into the second period. Teammate Morgan Adams-Moisan was ejected for checking to the head in the third.

WILDCATS 2 OLYMPIQUES 1

GATINEAU, Que. — Joey Richard scored the eventual winner in the third period as Moncton topped the Olympiques.

Zack MacEwen opened the scoring midway through the first for the Wildcats (33-18-10), who snapped a three-game skid.

Vincent Milot-Ouellet responded late in the third for Gatineau (41-17-3).

CATARACTES 5 DRAKKAR 1

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Gabriel Gagne and Anthony Beauvillier both had a goal and two assists to lead the Cataractes over Baie-Comeau.

Alexis D'Aoust, Alex Pawelczyk and Samuel Asselin supplied the rest of the offence for Shawinigan (39-17-4), which scored three times in the third.

Vincent Lavoie had a power-play goal in the first period for the Drakkar (10-44-5).

TIGRES 5 OCEANIC 3

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Alexandre Goulet, Mario Huber and Carl Marois all scored in the second period as the Tigres rallied past Rimouski.

James Phelan and Felix Lauzon also chipped in for Victoriaville (30-23-7).

Tyler Boland, on the power play, Simon Bourque and Carson MacKinnon found the back of the net for the Oceanic (32-22-6).
