MAPLE LEAFS (17-22-9) at BRUINS (26-18-5)

TV: NESN

Season series: The Boston Bruins have won all three games this season against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bruins forward Brad Marchand has four goals and goaltender Tuukka Rask has earned each win. Maple Leafs forward Leo Komarov has scored twice.

Maple Leafs team scope: Toronto hopes the rest over the All-Star break rejuvenated its offense. The Maple Leafs have scored three goals in their past four games, all losses. A 3-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Jan. 19 is the Maple Leafs' only win in their past 10 games. Leading scorer Komarov, who has 31 points in 48 games, seemed eager to get back to work because the all-star didn't take a day off and practiced Monday. Goaltending hasn't been a problem. James Reimer is tied for second in the NHL with a .932 save percentage and Jonathan Bernier allowed one goal in his previous start. The Maple Leafs play six of their next seven games on the road. They haven't won in Boston since Dec. 31, 2014.

Bruins team scope: Boston is dealing with backup goaltender Jonas Gustavsson's medical issue. He was removed from the last game Jan. 26 against the Anaheim Ducks because of an irregular heart rate and was placed on injured reserve Monday. "We placed Jonas on injured reserve as we await his final test results," general manager Don Sweeney said. "Pending those final test results, he will be cleared for full participation by our medical staff." Malcolm Subban was recalled from Providence and joined the Bruins for practice Monday. He'll be Rask's backup if Gustavsson is not cleared. Second-year forward David Pastrnak, who has five goals and four assists in 18 games this season, returned to the NHL after spending the All-Star break with Providence of the American Hockey League. Pastrnak should add some punch to the offense, which has scored more than two goals once in the past four games. All-Star center Patrice Bergeron took advantage of a day off after returning from Nashville and did not practice. Boston went into the break on a losing note, but won five of its final seven games before the weekend off.
