ISLANDERS (32-19-7) at FLAMES (26-30-3)

TV: 9 p.m. ET; MSG+2, SNW, NHL.TV

Season series: Frans Nielsen scored twice in the New York Islanders' 4-0 win against the Calgary Flames on Oct. 26. Jaroslav Halak made 29 saves in his second of three shutouts this season. Islanders forward Kyle Okposo had two assists.

Islanders team scope: Defenseman Ryan Pulock, the No. 15 pick in the 2013 NHL Draft, could make his NHL debut after being called up from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League on Monday. He did not play in a 4-1 win against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday. Defenseman Calvin de Haan did not travel with New York when it started the western leg of its seven-game road trip. De Haan sustained a lower-body injury against the Detroit Red Wings on Feb. 15 and was retroactively put on injured reserve Sunday. "It's a matter of Cal getting back to where he needs to be," coach Jack Capuano told Newsday. Forward Mikhail Grabovski also stayed behind with an upper-body injury but could play during the road trip.

Flames team scope: Calgary has lost five of six games since losing starting goaltender Karri Ramo to a season-ending ACL injury. Goaltender Jonas Hiller started five of the six; he lost three and was pulled from another. Goaltender Joni Ortio made his first start since Oct. 30 in a 2-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. He made 35 saves and held the Kings scoreless for almost 30 minutes. "He gave us a chance and kept us in the game," coach Bob Hartley told the Flames website. "I felt that he was real solid and was tracking the puck well. You could feel that he was on his game." Defensemen Kris Russell (lower body) and Ladislav Smid (upper body) are day-to-day.
