Season series: The Dallas Stars have won their first four games against the Winnipeg Jets this season. Stars forward Ales Hemsky scored once and had two assists in a 6-3 win at American Airlines Center on Nov. 12. Dallas forward Patrick Sharp scored in the shootout for a 2-1 win at Dallas on Jan. 7. Stars center Tyler Seguin scored twice in a 5-3 win at MTS Centre on Feb. 2. Jamie Benn had two goals to help Dallas to a 5-3 win at MTS Centre this past Tuesday.
Jets team scope: Winnipeg center Bryan Little will miss his third consecutive game because of a neck injury, according to the Jets website. "He has been going through a battery of tests," coach Paul Maurice said. "We got some results [Tuesday], and there was a bit of a red flag in one of them." Maurice said that Little will undergo more tests. Little, whose 17 goals tie him for the team lead, was hit by Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Anton Stralman on Feb. 18. Maurice has not named a starting goaltender yet; Ondrej Pavelec has started four of the past five games. Winnipeg has lost four consecutive games.
Stars team scope: Dallas forward Patrick Eaves (illness) will not play Thursday, according to the Stars website. "He might have a little bit of the pneumonia," coach Lindy Ruff said. "He is sick in that sense that it is going to take a little while before he gets healthy. It's get him healthy and get him back here. It's probably going to take a little time when you are that sick to get back up and running again." Forward Travis Moen (lower body), who has missed six consecutive games, is day-to-day. Ruff has not announced whether Kari Lehtonen or Antti Niemi will start in goal. They have alternated starts in the past five games.
