NEW YORK -- New York Rangers center Derek Stepan will be out of the lineup for four to six weeks because of two broken ribs, coach Alain Vigneault said Monday.
Stepan was injured on a hit from Boston Bruins forward Matt Beleskey during the Rangers' 4-3 loss at TD Garden on Friday. He will miss his second consecutive game Monday, when the Rangers play the Carolina Hurricanes (7 p.m. ET; FS-CR, MSG).
Stepan has six goals and six assists in 23 games this season.
The Rangers recalled forward Jayson Megna from Hartford of the American Hockey League. Megna, 25, is tied for the Hartford lead with five goals and 12 points. He had one assist in 12 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season.
