{allcanada} Wild score two third-period goals to rally past Oilers

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Minnesota Wild scored goals 43 seconds apart midway through the third period to lift them to a 4-3 win against the Edmonton Oilers at Xcel Energy Center on Tuesday.

The Wild led 2-0 before the halfway point of the first period but surrendered three consecutive goals to the Oilers, the final one by defenseman Darnell Nurse at 3:38 of the third period, giving Edmonton a brief lead.

Minnesota (6-2-1) defenseman Ryan Suter scored his second of the night at 8:43 to tie it. The goal came from in tight after a spinning shot attempt by Mikko Koivu missed the net.

On the next shift, Minnesota's third line capitalized on a second-chance shot. Thomas Vanek gained control of the puck in the left corner and centered a pass for Justin Fontaine. The puck was knocked back to Vanek, who tried again, this time hitting Charlie Coyle on the backdoor for his third goal at 9:26.

Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk made 22 saves, including four in the final minute and a nice right-pad save on Connor McDavid with 4:15 remaining to keep the Wild in front.

Suter and defenseman Marco Scandella scored to give the Wild a two-goal lead at 9:30 of the first period. Suter's shot from the top of the left circle went through traffic in front and beat Oilers goalie Cam Talbot to the glove side at 7:25 for his first of the season. Scandella's redirection in front came on a nice pass from Vanek along the right halfwall 2:05 later.

Edmonton (3-7-0) scored the next three goals. Taylor Hall's shot from near the left post into an open net at 11:09 of the first got the Oilers within one before Iiro Pakarinen's wrist shot deflected off Wild defenseman Matt Dumba and past Dubnyk at 4:41 of the second, tying the game at 2-2.

Nurse gave the Oilers a brief lead at 3:38 of the third, cruising into the Wild zone and ripping a slap shot that deflected off Minnesota defenseman Jared Spurgeon's stick and over Dubnyk's glove. It was Nurse's first NHL goal.

Talbot, who made 24 saves, went to the bench with 1:10 remaining for the extra attacker.
