{allcanada} Kings make it six in a row with win against Jets

WINNIPEG -- Milan Lucic helped extend the Los Angeles Kings' winning streak to six games on a third-period goal with 4:41 remaining in a 4-1 victory against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday at MTS Centre.

The Kings (6-3-0) has started 3-0-0 on the road for the second time in their history. The win wrapped up a two-game Canadian road trip for Los Angeles, which will play six of its next eight games at home.

Lucic finished a 2-on-1 rush started by Tyler Toffoli and Jeff Carter, redirecting Toffoli's centering pass behind Winnipeg goaltender Ondrej Pavelec. Toffoli and Trevor Lewis each scored an empty-net goal in the final minute. Los Angeles outshot Winnipeg 14-5 in the third period.

Jake Muzzin scored for the Kings. Jets (5-3-1) rookie Nikolaj Ehlers scored for the third consecutive game.

Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick made 24 saves. He has allowed three goals in his past three starts. Pavelec had 28 saves for Winnipeg.

Winnipeg is 2-2-1 on its six-game homestand that ends Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Following a scoreless first period, Ehlers' fourth goal gave the Jets a 1-0 lead at 8:45. The 19-year-old, who was the ninth pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, grabbed a loose puck in the corner, sped to the top of the right circle and sent a low shot into a net-front crowd that eluded Quick.

Muzzin's first goal at 15:50 tied the game. The rebound of Dustin Brown's shot bounced to the top of the circles, where Muzzin's long shot got past Pavelec. Muzzin's goal was the first by a Kings defenseman this season.
