{allcanada} QMJHL: D'Aoust, Beauvillier lead Cataractes over Drakkar

 

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. - Alexis D'Aoust and Anthony Beauvillier both scored twice and added an assist as the Shawinigan Cataractes beat the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 7-4 on Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Giovanni Fiore also struck twice for Shawinigan (15-3-0), with Alex Pawelczyk rounding out the attack. Samuel Girard tacked on three assists.

Matt Jones had a pair of goals for the Drakkar (3-13-0). Vaclav Karabacek and Antoine Pouliot had the others.

Mikhail Denisov made 27 saves for the Cataractes as Evgeny Kiselev kicked out 24-of-30 shots for Baie-Comeau.

Shawinigan scored twice on four power plays while the Drakkar were 1 for 4.

OCEANIC 3 MOOSEHEADS 2

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Beau Rusk scored the eventual winner in the second period as the Oceanic hung on to beat Halifax.

Tyler Boland and Pierre-Olivier Demers also found the back of the net for Rimouski (11-6-0).

Kelly Bent opened the scoring in the first before Danny Moynihan added a power-play goal in the second for the Mooseheads (7-11-2).

OLYMPIQUES 3 SAGUENEENS 2

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Gabriel Bilodeau and Alexandre Alain had goals in the first period to lead Gatineau over the Sagueneens.

Alex Breton rounded out the attack with a goal in the second for the Olympiques (11-5-1).

Garrett Johnston and Nicolas Roy replied with second-period goals for Chicoutimi (7-10-1).

SEA DOGS 5 FOREURS 3

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Daniel Del Paggio and Matthew Highmore both had a goal and an assist as the Sea Dogs toppled Val-d'Or.

Ottawa Senators draft pick Thomas Chabot, Adam Marsh and Jakub Zboril also found the back of the net for Saint John (10-7-1).

Nathan Tremblay struck twice, with Shawn Ouellette-St-Amant adding the other for the Foreurs (10-7-3).

TITAN 7 WILDCATS 3

BATHURST, N.B. — Nicholas Blanchard scored twice and added an assist as the Titan dominated Moncton.

Jeffrey Truchon-Viel had a goal and two assists while Quintin Lisoway, Andrew Cordssen-David, Egor Popov and Felix Boivin rounded out the attack for Acadie-Bathurst (6-11-2).

Cameron Askew scored twice for the Wildcats (11-6-2), with William Bower also chipping in.
