Former Calgary Stampeders linebacker Jasper Simmons has agreed to terms with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and has a contract in hand to join the team according to a report by Gary Lawless of TSN Radio 1290 Winnipeg.

Simmons time with the Stampeders came to an acrimonious end this week after he retweeted posts his agent made on twitter regarding his lack of playing time with the team that traded for him in the off-season.

"Its a shame what the @calstampeders are doing to Jasper Simmons. The worst organization in the @CFL is holding him hostage & won't play him," Simmons' agent Sammy Gahagan posted on Saturday.

The Stampeders announced his release on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old had four tackles in four games with the Stampeders this season after posting 80 tackles and three interceptions last campaign with the Ottawa Redblacks.

Simmons has also played for the Toronto Argonauts during his four year CFL career.
