{allcanada} Flames' Gaudreau honored in native New Jersey

CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames winger Johnny Gaudreau was honoured in his home state on Wednesday, being inducted into the All-Sports Museum of Southern New Jersey.

The 22-year-old is the youngest inductee into the All-Sports Museum of Southern New Jersey, which is located in Bridgeton, NJ.

"I think it's going to hit me a little bit harder as the years go on and I realize some of the players that are actually in this museum, and it's exciting right now," he told The Daily Journal. "It's a pretty special moment for me."

In his rookie season in Calgary, Gaudreau netted 24 goals and 64 points. He was second in team scoring, led the Flames with nine points in 11 games in the postseason, and was a Calder Trophy finalist.

"It was a learning experience for me," he said of his first NHL campaign. "It [was] an unbelievable season. We came up a little bit short but I learned so much this season. It was so much fun playing with the guys in this locker room. It's just a shame we fell a little short."
