Joni Mitchell did suffer an aneurysm and is not only speaking, but "speaking well," according to her conservator.
The 73-year-old eight-time Grammy-winning folk musician was hospitalized in March for an undisclosed ailment after being found unconscious at her home. Her friend, former flame and fellow folk rock star David Crosby, 71, had recently told HuffPost Live that Mitchell had "had an aneurysm" and "is not speaking yet."
"Joni did in fact suffer an aneurysm. However, details that have emerged in the past few days are mostly speculative," read a statement approved by her Leslie Morris, her conservator, and posted on her official website on Sunday.
"The truth is that Joni is speaking, and she's speaking well," the statement added. "She is not walking yet, but she will be in the near future as she is undergoing daily therapies. She is resting comfortably in her own home and she's getting better each day. A full recovery is expected."
In his interview with HuffPost Live, Crosby said he loves Mitchell, adding, "I think we're all holding our breath and thinking a good thought, you know, hoping that it's gonna turn out OK."
