OTTAWA -- Montreal Canadiens forward PA Parenteau will be back in the lineup for Game 6 of their Eastern Conference First Round series against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday (6 p.m. ET; CBC, NBCSN, TVA Sports).
The Canadiens lead the best-of-7 series 3-2.
Canadiens coach Michel Therrien would not confirm who would be coming out to make room for Parenteau, who has not played since Game 1. He missed Game 2 because of an upper-body injury and the next three games as a healthy scratch.
"When he's in the prime of his game he has a lot of poise with the puck," Therrien said. "He can make some good plays, he's responsible at both ends of the ice and he can help us on the power play."
While Therrien would not confirm who would sit out, Dale Weise missed the Canadiens' morning skate. Therrien said Weise had a maintenance day and that he should be available to play Game 6, but did not definitively say he would play.
Parenteau said it's been difficult to watch as his teammates scored one goal against Senators goalie Craig Anderson in the past two games knowing he has the tools to help generate some offense.
"I think I'm known for my offense and I can help the team in that area for sure," Parenteau said.
"So yeah, it was a little frustrating seeing my teammates not scoring and not being able to get in the lineup. But the team has been playing really well in this playoffs. I was just waiting for my turn and here I am tonight. I'm going to play and I'm excited."
Canadiens forward Brandon Prust spoke to the media for the first time since he and Anderson got involved in an altercation near the end of Game 5 and said he doesn't believe there would be any carryover into Game 6.
Prust didn't exactly apologize for the incident.
"I mean, he started it," Prust said. "He poked me in the ribs. It's a 4-1 game with two minutes left; I'm going to spear you back if you're going to spear me. If it's a 2-1 game I probably let him get away with it."
Following Game 5, Senators coach Dave Cameron called the play a cheap shot. On Sunday he said that players like Prust and Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki are the reasons why rivalries are built, because of their abrasive styles of play.
"[Prust] is the type of player that usually playoff teams look to get and have," Cameron said.

Status report: The Canadiens' forward lines are a guessing game. Parenteau was asked who he would be playing with in Game 6 and said he wasn't allowed to say. He did, though, reveal he would be playing his regular position, right wing. … De La Rose, a 19-year-old rookie, has struggled to keep up with the pace of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and may be the one scratched assuming Weise is fine. Smith-Pelly is another possible candidate to be scratched.
Who's hot: Gilbert has the only goal the Canadiens have scored in the past two games.
