The New York Rangers made another trade Sunday, acquiring forward Carl Klingberg from the Winnipeg Jets for forward Lee Stempniak.
Klingberg, 24, had been reassigned to St. John's of the American Hockey League earlier Sunday. He did not have a point in two games for Winnipeg this season and had 15 goals and 15 assists in 51 AHL games. He was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the second round (No. 34) of the 2009 NHL Draft.
Stempniak, 32, was in the midst of his first season with the Rangers. He had nine goals and nine assists in 53 games. The Jets will be Stempniak's seventh NHL team.
Winnipeg also reassigned forward Eric O'Dell to St. John's.
The Rangers acquired defenseman Keith Yandle from the Arizona Coyotes earlier Sunday.
