CALGARY - Brooks Maxwell scored once in regulation and then added the shootout winner as the Red Deer Rebels extended their win streak to five games with a 5-4 victory over the host Calgary Hitmen Wednesday in Western Hockey League action.
Conner Bleackley had a pair of goals for the Rebels (25-14-5) and Adam Musil added a goal and an assist.
Connor Rankin scored twice for the Hitmen (23-17-4) while Elliott Peterson and Jake Bean added the others.
Red Deer's Rylan Toth made 20 saves for the win as Brendan Burke turned aside 30-of-34 shots for Calgary.
The Rebels went 1 for 4 on the power play while the Hitmen scored twice on seven chances with the man advantage.

WARRIORS 4 ICE 3
MOOSE JAW, Sask. — Brayden Point scored three times — including the eventual winner at 11:08 of the third period — as the Warriors edged Kootenay.
Torrin white also scored for Moose Jaw (18-23-4), which got a 30-save outing from Zach Sawchenko.
Rinat Valiev, Austin Vetterl and Sam Reinhart scored for the Ice (21-21-1), who are on a four-game slide, while Wyatt Hofflin gave up four goals on 18 shots.
Warriors forward Jaimen Yakubowski was handed a major penalty and game misconduct 4:08 into the third period for checking-to-the-head.

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. — Pavel Padakin scored twice and Daniel Wapple made 37 saves as Regina toppled the Tigers.
Taylor Cooper, Austin Wagner, Colton Kroeker and Jesse Gabrielle also scored for the Pats (26-14-3).
Dryden Hunt found the back of the net for Medicine Hat (29-11-2), while Marek Langhamer kicked out 26-of-32 shots in defeat.

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Matt Needham scored twice and tacked on two assists as the Blazers downed Portland.
Cole Ully and Deven Sideroff each had a goal and two assists for Kamloops (15-24-6), while Ryan Rehill and Collin Shirley added the others. Connor Ingram made 24 saves for the win.
Alex Schoenborn and Dominic Turgeon supplied the goals for the Winterhawks (23-19-3). Adin Hill stopped 12-of-16 shots before getting yanked after 20 minutes of play. Evan Johnson made 17 saves in two periods of relief.

ROCKETS 7 AMERICANS 1
KELOWNA, B.C. — Rourke Chartier and Dillon Dube each scored twice as the Rockets pummelled Tri-City.
Rodney Southam, Chance Braid and Justin Kirkland also scored for Kelowna (34-7-3), which got a 19-save performance from Jackson Whistle.
Brian Williams was the lone man to beat Whistle while Evan Sarthough turned away 28-of-35 shots for the Americans (20-21-2).
