Season series: Karri Ramo earned the shutout for the Calgary Flames by stopping 32 shots and Jiri Hudler scored both goals against the San Jose Sharks in a 2-0 win. Calgary has won its past three games against San Jose, two of them at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Sharks team scope: San Jose comes to Alberta for a weekend back-to-back against the Flames and Edmonton Oilers riding a three-game winning streak, including a 7-4 home victory against the Boston Bruins on Thursday. The Sharks completed a 3-1-2 homestand and are in fifth place in the Pacific Division, three points behind the fourth-place Los Angeles Kings and six behind the third-place Flames. 'It's a very competitive league and every win's going to be huge," center Joe Thornton said, according to InsideBayArea.com. "But we're starting to find our groove, which is a good thing, and hopefully we can keep the winning ways going."

Flames team scope: The victory in San Jose the night before Thanksgiving started a four-game winning streak that continued Thursday when Calgary got an empty net goal by defenseman Dennis Wideman and the overtime winner by Sean Monahan in a 4-3 victory against the Colorado Avalanche. Coach Bob Hartley said Friday that center Matt Stajan, who missed 15 games with a knee injury, will be back in the lineup against the Sharks. "I want to pick up right where the team is and make sure I'm just joining in to where we are because everybody's been playing so great," Stajan said. Calgary is trying to complete a sweep of its three-game homestand before playing four games in six days on the road next week.
