The Toronto Blue Jays have expressed interest in Washington Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo as a possible replacement for current team president Paul Beeston according to a report by ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
Rizzo, who also holds the position of president of baseball operations for the Nationals, has been with the franchise since 2006 when he joined as an assistant general manager. He took over the GM position in 2009 and was promoted to president in 2013.
Rizzo is the latest name to be mentioned as a possible hire for the Blue Jays after Dan Duquette of the Baltimore Orioles, Kenny Williams of the Chicago White Sox and Terry Ryan of the Minnesota Twins were all reported as possible targets during MLB's winter meetings last week.
Buster Olney of ESPN reported that the Blue Jays were seeking a replacement for Beeston as team president and CEO.
