Season series: The Los Angeles Kings and Toronto Maple Leafs split two games in 2013-14. Marian Gaborik had a goal and an assist March 13 in his first game in Los Angeles with the Kings, but James Reimer made 31 saves to lead the Maple Leafs to a 3-2 victory. Jeff Carter had a goal and an assist in the Kings' 3-1 win in Toronto on Dec. 11.

Kings team scope: Los Angeles is 1-2-0 on its five-game road trip following a 6-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Friday. Coach Darryl Sutter is not panicking about the Kings being in fifth place in the Pacific Division. "Probably last year at this point it's about where we were too. I haven't really looked," he told LA Kings Insider on Saturday. "You know what? I don't get too caught up in the analysis part of it. We just stay in the game-to-game part of it and how we're playing, and that's it." Defensemen Jake Muzzin and Drew Doughty scored in the loss to the Canadiens, when the Kings had 46 shots on goal. Each has four points (three assists) in the past two games. After this game, Los Angeles faces the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday to close out its trip before opening a four-game homestand with the second half of its home-and-home with the Blues on Thursday.

Maple Leafs team scope: Toronto has won four games in a row following its 4-1 victory against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. The Maple Leafs got goals from James van Riemsdyk, Richard Panik, Morgan Rielly and Nazem Kadri, and Jonathan Bernier made 27 saves to earn his 12th win. "I thought tonight was one of our best games of the year," Bernier said. "We competed hard. They are a tough team to play against. We knew they played last night, so we just wanted to keep the pace high and give it to them a little bit." The Maple Leafs are 7-1-1 since a 9-2 loss to the Nashville Predators on home ice Nov. 18; they've averaged 4.86 goals in the wins.
