Scrooged
The Vancouver Sun details how Canucks winger Alex Burrows has no goals in 17 games this season, despite having 61 shots on net.
"Even when I got hot sometimes in previous years, I'd often say I got lucky on that one – I got a bounce," Burrows said. "It's a game of bounces and they go both ways. I like to believe the law of averages even out at the end of the year. Maybe – how would you say it? – this is luck in disguise. Because at the end of the year, when we need goals the most, they're going to come in piles."
Is this year's beginning of his four-year, $18 million contract buying added pressure?
"Not at all," he said. "It's more I just feel pressure to help my teammates out and win games. I just try to work harder, go to bed earlier – keep doing the right things. At the end of the day, my luck is going to change and they're going to start going in."
