Thanks for the suggestion, Phil. Unfortunately the Foobar2000 version that supports surround add-ons doesn't run under Windows 2000, and nor does DVD Audio Extractor, which also offers a number of advantages over DVD-A Explorer.
Anyway, my friend and neighbour has answered the question for me, by playing the ISO file on his system - the 48/24 tracks are a commentary called 'Making of Rumours' - so I made the right choice to extract the 96/24 tracks.
