The Calgary Sun speculates it could have easily been lost in the goalie shuffle and other injury woes, but the Calgary Flames received good news Tuesday.
Forward Michael Cammalleri said after practice he's healthy enough to return to action after missing the last three games with a hip flexor injury. He plans to play Wednesday's game against the Dallas Stars.
"I started feeling really good right before I went out," Cammalleri said. "I thought my last two games before I got hurt there were probably my best two. Hopefully, I can pick up where I left off."
That was only one reason Cammalleri had a big grin at the Saddledome. At the end of practice, he spotted a special visitor in the stands, his daughter.
"My mom's in town, so I think Jen, my mom and Chloe went to the store to pick up some Flames gear before (my mom) goes back to Toronto. I guess they caught the end of practice," Cammalleri said. "I didn't expect to see them.
"I don't know if (waving to the crowd) is allowed, but practice was over when I saw them. It was perfect timing."
