Jason Garrison's career season is about to pay off in a big way.

TSN's Bob McKenzie is reporting that Garrison is leaving the Florida Panthers to sign a six-year deal with the Vancouver Canucks that will pay the offensive defenseman $4.6 million annually. The Canucks have made the signing official via their Twitter account, but financial terms have not been disclosed.

Garrison, 27, had 16 goals and 17 assists in 77 games this past season, just his second full campaign in the NHL. An undrafted free agent, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound blueliner has appeared in just 190 NHL games since turning pro in 2008.

Garrison helped the Panthers qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in over a decade. He had a goal and two assists in four postseason contests. Florida was ousted by the New Jersey Devils in the opening round.
