REGINA -- Top draft pick Ben Heenan signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders as the CFL team locked up all four of their Canadian draft selections.
The Roughriders also came to terms with linebackers Samuel Hurl and Kevin Regimbald-Gagne as well as wide receiver Ismael Bamba.
Heenan, who went first overall in the draft, spent four seasons as an offensive lineman at the University of Saskatchewan.
The six-foot-four, 310-pound Heenan helped the Huskies to three Canada West regular-season titles and four consecutive playoff appearances.
Hurl, at 6-1, 225 pounds, was taken 12th overall by the Riders. He led the Calgary Dinos last season with 97 defensive tackles and four tackles for a loss.
Regimbald-Gagne, Saskatchewan's 35th pick, was a standout linebacker with the Sherbrooke Vert et Or. Last season the 6-1, 230 pounder was named a first team CIS all-Canadian after registering 40 defensive tackles.
Bamba, taken 39th overall, had 50 receptions for 543 yards and four touchdowns with Sherbrooke last season. The 6-1, 195-pound receiver added 12 kick returns for 310 yards and one touchdown, as well as 18 punt returns for 208 yards and one TD.
