[SurroundSound] Re: new Mastered for iTunes section

Yes this appears to be a way for Apple to increase their brand hype and market share by appealing to the masses with a clever catch phrase. 'Mastered For iTunes' will definitely attract people because of the phrase 'mastered'. People will assume they are getting a high quality version of a song, but instead it will just be slightly better than a crappy sounding mp3. And I can only imagine that Apple will charge more money for this :(

While it is now common to be able to purchase CD quality files directly from artists and labels, unfortunately Apple has not gotten on board with this. I wonder if they are just thinking about download size and storage??? Music quality is obviously not their priority here.

And I am still amazed that so many people don't even realize that there is a quality difference between CD and mp3, and it's not just the kids! I'm talking adults here. I think we need to start some kind of Facebook awareness campaign!
