With the announcement of Montreal offensive co-ordinator Scott Milanovich as new head coach of the Toronto Argonauts just days away, the team is working behind the scenes to try and secure the services of another well-known assistant coach.
Sources say the Argos are expected to add current Calgary defensive co-ordinator Chris Jones to their staff for next season. Jones, who entered the CFL with Montreal in 2002 and has been with the Stamps since 2007, is expected to be given the title of assistant head coach and defensive co-ordinator in Toronto.
It remains to be seen if, with the addition of Jones, what will become of current defensive co-ordinator Orlondo Steinauer, who was promoted from defensive backs coach mid-season after the firing of Chip Garber.
Both Milanovich and Jones have ties to current Argo head coach and general manager Jim Barker, who is expected to stay on in the GM's role after two seasons as head coach.
